Performance:

Common faults and solutions

When water vapor or droplets appear around the valve stem or gland above the packing cavity (cannot be eliminated by tightening the gland bolts and nuts), pay attention to the following points:

  1. If the gland has reached the end of the stroke, replace it with a new Packing graphite.
  2. Packing may have hardened to fill the cavity. Replace with new packing.
  3. Incorrect packing is used, and the temperature and pressure of the packing can’t meet the requirements.
  4. The valve stem may be grooved, worn, scratched or bent. Replace the valve stem and replace it with a new packing.
  5. The packing rings of each segment cannot be evenly surrounded around the valve stem.
  6.  The packing gland may be stuck with the packing cavity or valve stem. If the packing is not pressed properly, make sure that the gland is buckled into the packing cavity and pressed down evenly.
